Cj7 turn signal switch12/28/2023 ![]() Clip one on the batt and the other on the lights reflector, easy check for ground. Also make a 12 ga 8ft long jumper with alligator clips. Pull the front lens and check for power in the hazard mode, then in the park to make sure. I forgot to mention I installed all new speed hut gauges and that was part of the 9 hr pulling the connectors (used weather proof connectors on all the wiring which helped). The F-ing Chinese put the harness in backward on one light and caused it to back feed. Put the bulb in and turned everything on. ![]() Pulled the pass bulb and pushed the harness through the socket, turned 180 deg and pull back in. Same factory number, their is no left and right. On the drivers side the reflector was labeled t and p. Then noticed when looking at front from a few feet that the pass side was labeled p and t. Found the right one was flashing (could not see through lens) very faintly. Put hazards on and checked lights in grill. Hooked up turn signal harness and install lights. On the front grill lights with lens off I marked on the reflector a p and t on each side of socket as a reference. Checked continuity to make sure nothing was crossed and everything worked Including all functions of turn switch). I spent 9 hrs with a volt ohm meter and jumper going through everything (pulling bulbs and turn signal harness plug. With parking and turn signal on with mine left worked fine right turn signal did not work, but right marker would. ![]() With head lights off, turn signals worked fine. ON my cj8 build I put a painless wiring harness and all new front grill and marker lights along with rear lights. You dont have to remove the switch completely, just set it aside. Remove the turn signal switch as described earlier in this section. Check the operation of the turn signal switch. If you have the front grill lights with the wires in the harness crossed (only takes one light) it will do what they are saying. Install the steering wheel and connect the negative battery cable.
